Two bloodied hosts
Writing prompt: Two serial killers host a podcast about unsolved murders. All of which were committed by the hosts themselves.
“What did you say? Nails? That's sick; I can't imagine how painful that must have been,” said Joe.
The podcast about two men talking about unsolved crimes was the most listened-to production. Everyone wanted to be hypnotized and scared by the drastic, uncensored scenes.
“The victim was tied to the tree with an almost invisible wire. The killer, with precise hits of a hammer, attached the victim to the tree with huge nails.”
Nigel talked about this with huge enthusiasm. Almost as if he approved that way of torture.
Joe finished the episode as usual.
“That, like so many other cases, has still not been solved to this day. Thank you for listening, and be careful. You never know who may be the person standing next to you.”
“From the murder scene to the music scene. Let's go!" Nigel said, clicking the ‘live’ button.
Or at least... he thought he clicked it.
“I'm telling you, man. This was the best feeling ever. With my fellow hammer, I was hitting the nail. The way it sunk in to that poor fellow—amazing!”
"Hey, we're still in the studio. Maybe we shouldn't talk about… you know… our performances.”
"Oh, come on, nobody is listening. We are off.”
Nigel calmed Joe only a bit. The latter still had a bad feeling.
His victims weren't random, but he always wanted to know if our Joe was picking up on his experiments.
“How do you choose them?”
“Places?”
“No. Victims.”
“Ahh, that's really hard to explain. When I see someone special, I know it right away. They have it in their faces. The urge to be killed, to be tortured.”
“Oh, I get it. I have a totally different approach, but that sounds reasonable to me.”
Something struck Joe.
“Nigel, when we are off… this ‘live’ button should blink or not?”
“It shouldn’t blink,” Joe said and looked at the blinking button. The red light highlighted Joe's face. “Oh…”
